OSHO Whirling
Meditation™ music by Deuter
Osho Whirling
Meditation is an ancient Sufi technique. While the whole body is moving you
can witness your center being silent and still.
'Just whirl like
children do. When your mind goes crazy, and you feel that now you will fall
down, do not stop -- go on! Even if you fall down, do not worry about it,
close your eyes and whirl. Your mind will get whirled, and you will fall
down. When your body has fallen down, inside feel! The whirling will
continue. And it will come nearer and nearer and nearer, and suddenly you
will be centered.

First stage: 15 minutes
For the first 15 minutes, rotate slowly.
Then gradually build up speed over the next 30 minutes until the
whirling takes over and you become a whirlpool of energy-the
periphery a storm of movement but the witness at the center silent
and still. When you are whirling so fast that you cannotÜ remain
upright, your body will fall by itself. Don't make the fall a
decision on your part nor attempt to arrange the landing in advance;
if your body is soft you will land softly and the earth will absorb
your energy.
Second stage:
Once you have fallen, the second part of the
meditation starts. Roll onto your stomach immediately so that your
bare navel is in contact with the earth. If anybody feels strong
discomfort laying this way, he should lie on his back. Feel your
body blending into the earth, like a small child pressed to the
mother's breasts. Keep your eyes closed and remain passive and
silent for at least 15 minutes.

After the meditation be as quiet and inactive as possible. Some people
feel nauseous during the Whirling Meditation, but this feeling
should disappear within two or three days. Only discontinue the
meditation if it persists.

(Not
only) ´Children enjoy this very much because they
get a great kick. Parents never allow their children to whirl. It is not good:
they should be allowed -- rather, encouraged. And if you can make them aware
of inner whirling also, you can teach them meditation through their whirling.
They enjoy it because they have a bodiless feeling. When they whirl, suddenly
children become aware that their body is whirling but they are not. Inside
they feel a centering which we cannot feel so easily, because their bodies and
souls are still a bit apart; there is a gap.' From Osho: The Book of Secrets
