This beautifully illustrated large-format paperback contains dozens of simple techniques that help take the stress out of everyday life. In addition to individual meditation techniques, most of which can be easily integrated into the normal activities of the day, there are an abundance of suggestions for how we can bring more color and joy and wonder into our lives.

ABOUT THE BOOK
Nobody needs meditation more than people who have no time to meditate. These busy people may have tried meditation but given it up, as it seems so difficult to integrate into a hectic lifestyle.

Most traditional meditation techniques were developed thousands of years ago for people living very different lives from the lives we live today. Nowadays, very few people find it easy to just sit down and relax. Meditation for Busy People is filled with methods that can easily be integrated into everyday life. A morning commute becomes a centering exercise, and the street noises outside an apartment window in the city become an aid, rather than a distraction, to finding the silent space within. Beautifully illustrated and a pleasure to read, this book is a perfect gift for your busy self, or a busy friend.

AFTERWORD

the stop! exercise: Stop yourself, stop yourself completely… Just be present…

Start doing a very simple method at least six times a day. It takes only half a minute each time so it is three minutes a day. It is the shortest meditation in the world (she laughs). But you have to do it suddenly - that's the whole point of it.
Walking on the street - suddenly you remember. Stop yourself, stop yourself completely, no movement. Just be present for half a minute. Whatsoever the situation, stop completely and just be present to whatsoever is happening. The stop has to be done suddenly. Then start moving again. Six times a day. More you can do but not less. It will bring much opening.
If you just become present suddenly, the whole energy changes. The continuity that was going on in the mind stops. And it is so sudden that the mind cannot create a new thought so quickly. It takes time; the mind is stupid.
Anywhere, the moment you remember, just give a jerk to your whole being and stop. Not only you will become aware. Soon you will feel that others have become aware of your energy - that something has happened; something from the unknown is entering you.
